Wow. Its been a few months. At some point during the MKII testing, Kromac got all nerfed to hell and I completely lost motivation to play. On top of that, I got pretty serious about Privateer's other major title, Monsterpocalypse. Turns out that wrecking cities with giant monsters is boatloads of fun. If you haven't checked it out, I would strongly suggest it.
Which brings us to the current state of affairs...

Gencon was last weekend. My best friend and I made the trip and dominated the Monsterpocalypse scene. I played the dinosaurs, but Mark played the giant Ninjas and completely wrecked his opponents. While we were there, I was able to delve into the Hordes/WM tables next door and pick some circle players' brains.

Surprise, surprise, Kromac not only was fixed during further testing, but has turned out to be one of the best Locks in the faction. Glory of Glories!

So, Mark and I headed over to the Privateer booth where, lo and behold, a Circle player gave us a demo of hordes. Mark was immediately hooked on the feel of the game, and when he saw the hate-fueled, Sharky Legion beasts, he grabbed a warpack.

Where does that leave me? Well, I picked up Epic Krueger and the Warborn Skinwalkers, dusted off my army, and got back to work.

Wolves...

So, I finally picked up the brushes for these guys.

Tharn Wolf riders, black clad wayfarer, most of the tharn ravagers, white mane, and Kromac's beast form are all in varying stages of ready-to-paint.

Human Kromac is still missing a right arm. I emailed PP about it again. Maybe they'll get back to me this time.

To be honest, I love the warpwolf. Kromac is the reason I wanted to play circle, but the Warpy is the reason I wanted to play the game period. So he's getting painted first.

I decided that all my Orboros will manifest red hair. Kind of a tribute to my family roots and my pop's red hair.

The wolf's tawny colored skin is really pleasing me. I'm going to try and finish the first coat and start details tomorrow.

I'm gonna put some arcane tattoos all over the shifters, give them sort of a shamanistic bent on the Druidism.
I'm struggling with the spines, though. Can't settle on dark and imposing vs bone colored and visually intriguing. Most likely I just need sleep.

On that note, this agent of chaos is signing off

Well, finished the Warpwolf today. I'm really pleased with how he turned out. The tawny, lion-esqu skin tone looks a bit nicer in person, but the red hair and tattoos come out very well, even in the photo.

I also started on some of the Tharn warriors today. The White Mane and a couple of the Ravagers are turning out pretty nice. Kromac looks really spectacular, though. The pose was a little odd at first, but I covered it over and it ended up looking even better than I anticipated.

I'm picking up speed on applying paints, which is nice. The Wolf took far too long for my taste, but he was well worth it.
